What can I expect from this Anaemia Profile?
Anaemia is a shortage of red blood cells and/or haemoglobin in your blood. It is a common cause of tiredness as it leads to less oxygen being carried by your body. It can also lead to a lack of energy, feeling faint, becoming easily breathless and occasionally irregular heartbeats.
This test is designed to discover clues in your blood as to why you may be feeling unusually tired or fatigued. It will give you information on several common causes of anaemia. It includes tests for iron levels including ferritin, a full blood count, vitamin B12 and folate (vitamin B9) levels.
Blood Cells (1 Biomarker)
This category includes full blood counts and blood group testing. A full blood count can be used to check your overall health and can detect a wide range of issues such as infection, anaemia and leukaemia. A blood group test will tell you to which blood group you belong (called ABO typing). Please note that full blood counts and blood group tests can only be done through an in-store appointment and cannot be run on finger prick samples.

Red blood cells contain haemoglobin which carries oxygen to the different tissues in the body whereas white blood cells control the immune system and protect the body from foreign invaders such as bacteria and viruses. FBC testing is used as a screening test for various disorders like anaemia and infections.
